The world’s largest potato is the Great Big Idaho Potato, which was made in Weiser, Idaho, The potato is 28 feet long, 12 feet wide and 11.5 feet tall and it is 1,102 times heavier than the largest potato ever grown. The potato is so big if it mashed, it would serve 30,325 people. However, it’s made out of steel, plywood, foam and concrete. It would take about 10,000 years to grow a potato this size. The largest potato sits on a 48-foot long flatbed trailer. The project took about a year to complete.
The largest potato makes its way across the nation in honor of the Idaho Potato Commission’s 75th Anniversary and in support of Meals on Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), which is the oldest and largest national organization dedicated to ending senior hunger.
